Charu Ceramics Bangladesh, a member company of the Great Wall Group that was founded in collaboration with Cotto Thailand, recently tested and started up a new Gaiotto robotized glazingcarousel. Part of the initial stage of the WC glazing project, the robotized glazing island reportedly plays an essential role in ensuring high-quality glaze application.

A four-position carousel operates in conjunction with a GA 2000 glazing robot, which, in turn, mounts the Gaiotto GDA 80 spray gun (which can be tilted 90°). Since it is needleless, the gun reportedly eliminates the need for maintenance and reduces the high cost of traditional spray guns while boosting both spraying performance and application consistency. A curtain glazing booth allows for retrieval of excess glaze to reduce running costs.

The output capacity of this initial stage of the project, which also includes three Riedhammer kilns (two five-car HWS PF 7.5/500/1.9 kilns and a TWS 90/360/80 tunnel kiln) is 750,000 pcs/year. However, a doubling of that capacity is reportedly in the pipeline, and annual output is expected to reach and exceed 1.5 million pieces.
